The Perfect Passenger

Motorcycle Riding the Texas Hill Country Motorcycle touring is something I have come to Love. Fortunately when Uncle Sam required me to spend yet another period of time at good ole' Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX I happened upon folks who pointed me to some great motorcycle roads in the Texas Hill Country.

The Three Twisted Sisters, highways 335, 336 & 337 are a must ride. Texas foothills, mountain passes, tight twisties , switchbacks and long fast sweepers combine to make for an incredible day of riding. Each road is unique in the scenery and type of riding so all three must be experienced.

Word of warning: There are very few places to stop for fuel while running the loop made by the sisters. Leakey and Camp Wood, TX both have fuel and I suggest topping off at both places and making sure you take water with you. The hill country can be pretty isolated and deserted.

If you're riding in the summer there are several places to stop and take a dip to cool off. DO NOT ride through high water. Flash floods happen quickly!

Check out the following two websites, they were a great help in planning my rides:
